Dock, Launcher and Overview
A dock for running and favourite applications, a full-screen launcher, and an overview of every window and desk.
Simple. Calm. Yours.
Cutefish is a Linux distribution built around Cutefish Desktop, a desktop environment with its own Wayland compositor, toolkit and applications, designed together so every part looks and moves the same way.
Virtual desks
Spread your work over several desks and move between them with a three-finger sideways swipe.
Glass surfaces
Panels, menus and the dock blur and tint the wallpaper behind them.
Own compositor
cutefish-compositor is a Wayland compositor written for this desktop. It draws the shell, window effects and animations itself.
Own toolkit
Every Cutefish application is built on cutefish-toolkit, a native C++ toolkit drawn with Skia.
Applications
Files, Terminal, Settings, Calendar, System Monitor, Text Editor, Video Player and screen capture come with the desktop.
